My standard

“I founded TN Preventus because, for me, good care is personal: listening, understanding the organisation and taking responsibility. As a northern German, I feel connected to the people and businesses of our region. If you entrust me with the care of your organisation, I will be at your side with wholehearted commitment and responsibility.”

Andreas Niebuhr MBASpecialist in occupational medicine

  1. Medically grounded

Health-related pressures are assessed professionally without losing sight of the real workplace.

  2. Clear in practice

Professional advice needs to be understandable and capable of fitting into existing operational processes.

  3. Personally accountable

Clear roles, transparent boundaries and direct dialogue are central to the way I work.

Personal perspective

What shapes my work.

Why I founded TN Preventus

In medical practice, I see how closely health, working conditions and organisational decisions are connected. TN Preventus works at precisely that interface.

I want to connect occupational medicine and occupational safety in a way that keeps each discipline distinct while giving organisations one clear and understandable process.

What has shaped my perspective

My clinical experience in orthopaedics and trauma surgery sharpens my view of how physical pressures, injuries and capacity for work can relate to one another. As a specialist in occupational medicine, I apply that perspective to prevention and the specific workplace context.

My MBA in Health Management adds an organisational perspective: how decisions are made and how professional recommendations can become effective in day-to-day operations.

Research: exploring questions in depth

At the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, I contributed to neurological research. I co-authored a scientific publication on cortical thickness and cognitive performance in people with asymptomatic narrowing of one carotid artery.

Cortical thickness and cognitive performance in asymptomatic unilateral carotid artery stenosis · BMC Cardiovascular Disorders · 2019.

OEUK Registered Doctor

I am listed in the official OEUK register of doctors. For offshore fitness assessments, we distinguish OEUK requirements from those of the German AWMF guideline. The framework needed depends on the intended assignment.

What responsibility means to me

Good advice begins with a clear distinction: what is the medical question, what belongs to occupational safety and who is responsible for which decision within the organisation?

The result should not be abstract paperwork but traceable next steps. Clear professional boundaries, confidentiality and understandable communication are part of that standard.

What organisations can expect from working with me

I begin by listening, clarifying the real reason for contact and understanding existing structures before a course of action is agreed. Scope and next steps should fit the organisation rather than a standard template.

Through TN Preventus, I want to remain personally accessible and professionally clear, with named responsibilities, traceable progress and attention to whether agreed measures reach day-to-day practice.

My approach

Listen. Distinguish. Connect. Follow through.

  1. Listen

Understand the reason, working reality and expectations before giving a professional assessment.

  2. Distinguish

Separate medical, safety and organisational questions clearly.

  3. Connect

Make interfaces, responsibilities and a realistic next step understandable.

  4. Follow through

Return to progress and effectiveness where doing so is meaningful for the organisation.

FAQ

Common questions, answered directly.

What matters most to you in good occupational medicine?

Medical quality, confidentiality and a realistic connection to the workplace. A professional assessment needs to be understandable without blurring responsibilities.

Why do you consider occupational medicine and occupational safety together?

The two disciplines have different tasks but meet in the same workplace. Clear interfaces help connect advice, measures and responsibilities.

What does personal accountability mean at TN Preventus?

For me, it means naming professional roles and boundaries clearly, remaining directly accessible and making decisions traceable.
